InTouch Events
No matter what your interests are, you're sure to find some events that appeal when you join InTouch ...and if you want to try something new, just let us know - we're always on the look-out for new things to do!
Our regular ladies' events cover a wide variety of activities from weekday coffee mornings to restaurant dinners and movie nights. We also try our skills in different workshops - some of the latest have been chocolate making, cake decorating and jewellery-making. Another of our most popular events are our Culture Club nights where we learn about each other's countries ...lately we've heard all about the UK, Australia, Saudi Arabia and even Iceland!
There are also quarterly mens' events and the activity usually goes to the highest vote: poker nights, rock climbing and snooker nights have been the most popular activities recently.
And many seasonal holidays are also celebrated in InTouch with a couples' or family and childrens' parties with activities - Halloween, Christmas, 4th of July and the arrival of summer are usually celebrated with a barbecue ...so there's always something for everyone!
Mums & Tots
Our InTouch 'Mums & Tots' group is a mother and toddler group run by our parent members with children for our parent members with children. We meet every Tuesday morning between 9.30am - 11.30am at Schiebroek, just outside the centre of Rotterdam.
Mums & Tots is unlike a creche or playschool where mothers leave their children - instead, it is a place where mothers and children can both come to play together. Each week we run different activities including craft, games and sing-a-longs to give parents and children a chance to do some activities together. There is also plenty of time for the kids to play together, giving the parents a chance to catch-up and get to know each other over morning tea. Parents with small babies are also very welcome!
Directions to Mums & Tots
Mums & Tots is held at Hazelaarweg 40, 3053 PM Rotterdam. It is a football clubhouse (Schiebroek 94) in Schiebroek. It can be a little difficult to find for first-timers.
If you are driving, you need to access Hazelaarweg from Ankie Verbeek-Ohrlaan, as there is no through access from the Schiebroek village side. You drive to the very end of Hazelaarweg, where the road ends and turns into a car park. At the end of the car park is an entrance to the football field, walk towards the clubhouse.
You can also reach the clubhouse by public transport. Tram number 25 goes to Schiebroek from the centre of Rotterdam. You get off at stop 'Larikslaan'. From there you walk up Kastanjesingel to your right. Bus 35 also stops at 'Hazelaarweg'. From the top of Kastanjesingel you walk along Hazelaarweg past a large school on your right and through a park by a canal to the car park. Turn right into the car park and walk through the entrance to the football field. The tram ride takes about 15 minutes from the centre of Rotterdam and the walk from Kastanjesingel to the clubhouse takes about 10 minutes.
